Spring/Summer 2012 Workshop Programme

Forget drab, grey days and cold, miserable weather. Nothing cheers up your home like a display of freshly cut flowers - especially when you've arranged them yourself. There's no mistaking the sense of pride and achievement they give you too, each time you stop to admire them.

If you'd like a few new arranging ideas, pop into The Black Rose to see our range of containers and browse our interior design section, which includes an inspiring collection of eye-catching vases as well as objets d'art, accessories and pictures that are perfect for gifts or simply a treat for yourself.

And if you'd like to brush up your skills, or learn some new techniques, book on to one of our workshops, with award-winning florist Mark Entwistle.

The workshops take place at our purpose-built flower studio in Knutsford, which provides the ideal surroundings to absorb everything you're shown and to have fun too. Mark's laid-back and sympathetic teaching style means the experience is enjoyable and stress-free, whether you're learning the basics or honing your skills. And as well as teaching you the technical know-how, Mark will encourage you to develop your own creativity and imagination.

We offer group design courses and one to one sessions that are customised to suit you. Whichever you choose, you're sure to have a memorable and satisfying day, taking home new skills you'll enjoy for years to come. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR WORKSHOP

All Day workshops begin at 10am and finish at 4pm, with an hour's break for lunch. The Black Rose flower studio is in the centre of Knutsford, with many cafés and restaurants on the door step, so you can stretch your legs, have a wander round the picturesque town centre and grab some lunch during the lunch break. Half Day workshops begin at 10am and finish at 1pm.

 We provide:

  • All the equipment and materials you need including containers, flowers and foliage.

  • Morning and afternoon refreshments.

 You take away:

  • 2 of your own designs in containers (1 design if you're attending the Saturday workshop).

  • New skills and techniques that you'll be able to enjoy for years to come.

  • The memories of an enjoyable day.

We suggest you bring a large bag or box to transport your arrangements, paper and pen to make notes - and perhaps a camera to record your achievements!
