WORKSHOP PROGRAMME

2010 is here, and it's time to celebrate! For the Black Rose, it's not just the start of a new decade; it's also our 10th year in business. And we're so proud, we're planning a celebratory party.

We very much hope you'll be able to join us on Thursday 6th May, anytime between 10am and 7pm, for a tipple of champagne, a few nibbles and a chance to win a free floral design each week for a month in our prize draw.

You'll be able to browse our new interior design section (another achievement we're keen to celebrate) to see our inspiring collection of eye-catching vases, objects d'art, accessories and pictures that would look sensational in either your home or business.

The workshops take place at our purpose-built flower studio in Knutsford, which provides the ideal surroundings to absorb everything you're shown and to have fun too. Mark's laid-back and sympathetic teaching style means the experience is enjoyable and stress-free, whether you're learning the basics or honing your skills. And as well as teaching you the technical know-how, Mark will encourage you to develop your own creativity and imagination.

We offer group design courses and one to one sessions that are customised to suit you. Whichever you choose, you're sure to have a memorable and satisfying day, taking home new skills you'll enjoy for years to come. The RHS TATTON FLOWER SHOW is taking place from 21st July to 25th July 2010 Once again The Black Rose is exhibiting in the Floral Design Studio and we'd love to see you there.

Simply Black Rose (£95 including vat)

The simple pleasure of being able to buy flowers and deftly arrange them into a beautiful display cannot be underestimated. On this beginners' class, the frustration of not knowing where to start will become a distant memory. Mark will share the straightforward techniques and simple principles behind basic, but nevertheless impressive, floral design, so that you'll leave confident and enthusiastic about developing your skills at home.

The White Masterclass (£115 including vat)

The most simple can also be the most striking. Using a pure white colour scheme, Mark will show you how to use shape, line, texture, form and balance to create elegant and effortlessly stylish arrangements. From the minimal to the elaborate, you'll see that white has an appeal and a beauty all of its own.

Absolutely any flower, from a cheerful daffodil to an opulent orchid, can be given a touch of pure style with the right know-how; and Mark definitely knows how! On this course, he'll show you how to use your imagination to take your displays to another level; to go beyond the expected and create something that's less of a flower arrangement and more of an art piece.

Contemporary Design (£110 including vat)

Using a combination of traditional techniques, ancient arts and modern ideas, Mark brings flower arranging bang up to date, and uses this workshop to demonstrate which styles are tipped to be big news in 2010. With his innovative interpretation of classic techniques, Mark helps set the trends that other florists follow. Remember; you saw it at The Black Rose first!

Floral Inspirations (£110 including vat)

Through different techniques, flower arranging is obviously something you can learn. But it only really becomes a skill when you have a true understanding of the elements involved, and a feel for the creative process. Mark's aim is to build your confidence and really inspire you to dig deep and express yourself. When you feel inspired, the arrangements you create will be truly inspirational.

Everything you need to know about your workshop

All Day workshops begin at 10am and finish at 4pm, with an hour's break for lunch. The Black Rose flower studio is in the centre of Knutsford, with many cafés and restaurants on the door step, so you can stretch your legs, have a wander round the picturesque town centre and grab some lunch during the lunch break. Half Day workshops begin at 10am and finish at 1pm.

We provide:
All the equipment and materials you need including containers, flowers and foliage.
Morning and afternoon refreshments.

You take away:
2 of your own designs in containers (1 design if you're attending the short Saturday workshop).
New skills and techniques that you'll be able to enjoy for years to come.
The memories of an enjoyable day.

We suggest you bring a large bag or box to transport your arrangements, paper and pen to make notes - and perhaps a camera to record your achievements!
